About

A wildly popular apple known for its explosively crisp texture and balanced sweet-tart flavor. Its cells are exceptionally large, which rupture when bitten to release a satisfying juice.

Fun Fact

Honeycrisp was nearly discarded from the University of Minnesota breeding program before researcher David Bedford rescued a clone of the damaged original tree, which had been marked for termination. Its recorded parentage (Macoun x Honeygold) was proven wrong by DNA analysis in 2004.
